Welcome to Genesis!
We are honored and thrilled that you’ve decided to visit. You may have a few questions before you show up.
Where and When?
810 South Sullivan in the valley. If you’ve driven by, you probably already know we are located on the corner of 8th and Sullivan in the Spokane Valley. We are directly across the street from the entrance to Central Valley High School. We begin our services at 9:00 am, and Recently added a second service at 10:45 am.
What about my kids?
We love having children at Genesis! We offer an infant nursery, a toddler group (Sprouts) during both of our Sunday Morning services. We also invite elementary age kids (G-Kids) to a great time of interactive learning in an age appropriate environment during our second 10:45 am service. Your children are also welcome to join you in the service. In fact, we love having kids around so much that each month that has a 5th Sunday, we have the G-kids stay upstairs during that service. If during the service, your little one needs some “Mom time” we also offer a nursing area behind the main auditorium doors.
Your child’s safety is paramount to us here at Genesis. We screen all of our children’s and youth workers, and we ask that all parents or guardians check their kids in each week. As you enter the building, you will see our kids check-in desk, and a friendly volunteer will enter their information. You will receive a ticket for when you pick them up after the service. Find out more here.
What should I expect?
An awesome time experiencing God with others! We have a relaxed environment with contemporary worship. You won’t need your earplugs, but the music is modern and we typically have a full worship team. We encourage you to bring a Bible as we preach from it each week, and it’s always helpful to have one to follow along. If you forget, or don’t have one, we have plenty here that you can borrow or keep. Dress is casual!
How long does it last?
The first service lasts from 9:00 to about 10:15. The second service starts at 10:45 and ends around noon. We start with some contemporary singing, a few announcements, and then the sermon. We strive to keep the messages straight from the Bible so you will be in good company if you want to bring your Bible, or if you prefer to read from a phone, tablet, or one of our Bibles. We also do our best to keep the messages interesting, and relevant. Feel free to listen to some of the sermons online here.
Do I need to give money?
We do not place an overemphasis on money at Genesis, but we do provide a few ways to give. We pass a basket during the service, and we have a box in the back as well. We, however, encourage you to take your time discovering if Genesis is a right fit for you and your family before you begin contributing financially to this ministry. Genesis is a not for profit, 501c3 organization, and we strive to protect our integrity in this area. Online giving and app coming soon.
